When viewers first met Mary and Brandan, they were obsessed with one another. They would talk on the phone from morning until bed time and sometimes they would even go to the bathroom with one another on the phone.
This came off as very toxic to viewers and when Brandan finally moved to the Philippines, reality hit him hard. With all of the financial issues that these two are dealing with, the news of a baby was incredibly shocking.
It seems as if Brandan is doing all he can in order to make things work with Mary, especially now that she is pregnant. It does appear that he may feel pressured to get married to her now.
He told the cameras that he has been thinking about marrying her because he feels that it is the right thing to do. When he proposed to Mary, it didn’t look like she even wanted to say yes, it seemed very forced on her part.
She told the cameras, “I know that we’re not ready yet because we’re still struggling and I’m still really stressing so bad. So I’m just saying yes because I need to and I don’t want him to be hurt or anything, so I just say yes.”
When Brandan found out that Mary was pregnant, he told her, “I don’t know how I’m feeling, I just can’t believe you’re pregnant. I am happy. This is… let me process it.”
