90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days couple Meisha Johnson and Nicola Kanaan are now engaged. Meisha, a 43-year-old single mom from Minnesota used to work as a journalist and a reporter for over 10 years before an incident completely changed her. Meisha had a spiritual awakening when she had a vision of two burning suns while vacuuming her living room. The incident made Meisha rethink her life. Meisha began working as a Director of Pastoral Care in the church. On her way to finding God, Meisha crossed paths with Nicola, a 46-year-old virgin man from Israel. Meisha and Nicola dated online for seven years before she flew to Israel.

Meisha hoped to come back to America engaged after spending time with Nicola in his country. But Nicola had hesitations about Meisha’s past and believed his family wouldn’t accept her because of it. However, a preview shared by ET from the finale confirms Nicola finally proposed to Meisha.

Nicola popped the question to Meisha in the middle of a busy street in Jerusalem. He got down on one knee and said, “I am asking you if you want to marry me. Because I was waiting for a woman like you.” As Nicola kept asking Meisha, “Will you say ‘yes’ or ‘no’?” she finally replied, “Yes, I will.” Meisha turned to Nicola and confessed, “I am in shock because you did it in public.”

Meisha was both impressed by Nicola’s romantic gesture but also completely surprised by how he managed to pull it off in front of so many strangers around in Jerusalem. Nicola also told Meisha that he chose the location because it was just 20 meters away from the Holy Sepulchre Church. “So, it’s very… like, sacred also,” Nicola explained. During her confessional scene, Meisha admitted that her heart was beating out of her chest when Nicola proposed to her. “I have been praying to God about this,” she said.

Meisha realized that while Nicola is “quirky” and “odd” Nicola has a certain kind of strength and courage that made it difficult for her to say “no” to him. “How he has enlightened my life is something that I am sure I will never find again,” she admitted. Interestingly, Nicola proposed to Meisha without a ring. He told Meisha that he would take her to go buy the ring after she agreed to wed him. Nicola spent years keeping Meisha his little secret. He didn’t tell his family about Meisha being his girlfriend for seven years, so his asking Meisha to be his wife in front of an audience of unknown people was charming.

Meisha still hasn’t got everything figured out in her life. She was married to her first husband at the age of 22. Meisha even moved to Sweden for him. Meisha welcomed two daughters during her marriage. But the relationship didn’t last for long and Meisha ended up getting divorced from her now ex-husband.
