90 Day Fiancé star Evelin Villegas has revealed the real reason behind her receiving medical care in an alarming video shared by her husband Corey Rathgeber. Evelin is a 33-year-old woman from Engabao, Ecuador who first featured in 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 1 with American partner Corey, 36. Corey moved to Evelin’s country from Mill A, Washington, much to the disappointment of his family. There, Corey found out Evelin had cheated on him, but once they got engaged, he cheated on her too. Despite these controversies, Corey and Evelin managed to get married, not once, but twice, and are still together years after their last reality TV appearance.

90 Day Fiancé fans get updates about Corey and Evelin from their Instagram, and while they’re usually happy, one of Corey’s recent IG stories was concerning. Evelin has now revealed why Corey filmed her getting an IV inserted in her hand. Evelin posted a story herself where she shared a picture of the peripheral IV catheter in her hand. She explained her medical issue. Evelin’s health woes can be blamed on a mosquito. “And the results are positive for Dengue..,” Evelin wrote in Spanish. She added that she doesn’t remember being bitten by a mosquito or even seeing one.

Evelin found a silver lining in her pain. She feels that it’s “good” because now she will get ample time to rest. “I’ll rest a lot to improve,” she said. Evelin admitted that she’s not been able to rest well for a very long time and this incident makes it “necessary” for her to do it now. “Thank you all for the love always,” Evelin wrote in conclusion. Corey had posted the video on his story without providing any context. It showed Evelin sitting on a bed and a nurse giving her intravenous therapy. Upon being asked how she was feeling, Evelin smiled and said she was hopeful to get better.

Evelin had also posted a video where a nurse was seen taking her blood pressure. Evelin had thanked a medical center located in Engabao for providing her with health care. It took Evelin several hours until she could tell her Instagram followers what it was that had made her feel sick. One is advised to drink plenty of fluids while recovering from dengue fever. It explains why Evelin was administered IV. Evelin has been busy preparing for her move to the U.S. while also focusing on her multiple businesses back home in Ecuador.

In May 2023, Evelin had been working on her paperwork to go live in America with her husband. While the U.S. would be her primary home, Evelin plans on going back and forth because of her work in her home country. However, once she moves, Evelin wants to stay with Corey in the States for three years. Corey and Evelin own a beachfront restaurant and bar in Engabao and are currently in the middle of launching a new bed and breakfast concept.
