Are Daniele & Yohan Trying For A Baby After Fertility Clinic Visit?

90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way couple Daniele Gates and Yohan Geronimo may have a baby in their future. Daniele, a 43-year-old former NYC teacher, and 32-year-old Yohan have been a part of the franchise since 90 Day Fiancé: Love In Paradise season 2. Daniele, who is already a mom to a 22-year-old son named Thomas Vaethroeder, met Yohan during a vacation in his country. Daniele married Yohan within five months and even left her job and life in New York City behind to move to Yohan’s native Dominican Republic for good. Only after moving did Daniele realize how incompatible she and Yohan were. Language and cultural differences and their age gap have led to many arguments between them.

Daniele and Yohan went to see their fertility doctor. The doctor had previously told Daniele that the chances of her getting pregnant with her own eggs were very low. Yohan wanted to continue to try naturally, but after nine months with no success, they had to consider engaging science and using an egg donor. Daniele tried managing her hormones naturally. She even changed her diet to see if it could help with fertility. But getting pregnant naturally has not been an option for Daniele.

Daniele & Yohan Are Considering An Egg Donor

The doctor told Daniele that when choosing an egg donor, they would try and find a person who resembled her. The baby would grow inside Daniele’s womb but not inherit any of her genes, although it would still have Yohan’s. The Dominican man was bothered by the fact that their baby would not have Daniele’s eyes or nose. Daniele wished for her donor to be a Harvard graduate. The couple was told how they would have to extract the eggs from the donor on the same hat they took Yohan’s sperm. A few days after that, the fertilized embryo would be transferred to Daniele, meaning they have to just hope for the best and wait for Daniele to get pregnant with Yohan’s baby.

The process could be done within 15 days of the day they met the doctor. He told the cameras that the chances of Daniele successfully getting pregnant from the donor eggs and Yohan’s sperm would be 65-70% if they got the process done at the soonest. If Daniele waited any longer, the chances would keep getting lower. The entire procedure would cost $11,500, which Daniele did not have the budget for. Daniele knew the onus of earning that money would come to her because Yohan has been jobless this season.

Does This Mean Yohan & Daniele Are Still Together?

Yohan and Daniele are still on different pages about how they will have the baby. Daniele is open to getting a donor but lacks the finances, while Yohan wants to keep trying to get pregnant naturally. It seems Daniele and Yohan may not agree upon how they want the baby because in the teaser clip for 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 5, Daniele is shown fighting with Yohan and kicking him out of their house after he calls her selfish. She tries not to share pictures indicating her relationship status on Instagram. However, she did accidentally confirm she’s still together with Yohan by posting a video with her husband in July 2023, as per InTouch.
