Jihoon has been silent on social media since losing custody of their son.
Nick Is From South Korea Just Like Jihoon
Jihoon is from Seoul, South Korea, and so is Nick. They both met their girlfriends on dating apps. Jihoon was 29 years old when he debuted on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 1. He used to work as a used phone reseller. Jihoon stayed with his parents at their home. Jihoon had been in several short relationships before Deavan. He watched a movie where he came across an app that had “many girls picture.” The curious Jihoon found Deavan on the app and gave her a “super like.” He said it was a Korean man’s fantasy to date an American woman.
After three months of talking online, Jihoon went to America to meet Deavan. Meanwhile, Nick is a South Korean man who moved to Australia for six years to work and study English. Nick met his American girlfriend while he was working in Australia. He hadn’t dated anyone for three years, but when his friend suggested he use Tinder, Nick met Devin. He felt “so lucky” after meeting Devin in Australia. Nick liked that Devin was introverted like him but also friendly and cute with an athletic physique.
Nick’s Parents Don’t Approve Of Devin (Deavan Could Never Impress Her In-Laws)
Nick is back in South Korea on the show, and it’s Devin’s first time in the country. Devin has always wanted to see South Korea, so Nick is planning to go sightseeing with her and even propose to her formally. However, Nick needs to get permission from his parents before he can get married. He believes his parents will compare Devin with Korean girls, which makes him nervous. If Devin blows her first meeting with his parents, Nick won’t be able to go to the U.S.
The trailer for 90 Day Fiancé season 10 shows Nick and Devin having dinner with his parents. He mentions how important his parents’ blessing is for his future with Devin. This Time Around, The Korean Man Is Moving To America
Devin and Nick dated for two years in Australia, but she soon started missing her family and friends in Searcy, Arkansas. Nick couldn’t imagine living in two different countries, so the 90 Day Fiancé couple decided to get engaged and apply for a K-1 visa. Nick knows there’s not a lot of diversity or a Korean community in Searcy, which makes him worried. Devin has also informed Nick about the racism in her city, which scares Nick. Jihoon didn’t have to face the same problem because it was Deavan who moved to Korea on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way.
Nick will have a new set of challenges to worry about when he’s in the U.S. on 90 Day Fiancé. Perhaps their storyline will have a happy ending as opposed to what happened with Jihoon and Deavan, who ended up going through a painful divorce and custody battle.
